- State Authorities Prohibited From Selling Real Property; Exceptions
            
 -  As used in this Code section, the term "state authority" means:  -  The Jekyll Island - State Park Authority provided for in Part 1 of Article 7 of Chapter 3 of Title 12; or 
-  The Stone Mountain Memorial Association provided for in Part 4 of Article 6 of Chapter 3 of Title 12. 
 
-  The provisions of any other laws of this state to the contrary notwithstanding, no state authority shall be authorized to sell real property; provided, however, this prohibition shall not apply to the sale or other disposition of real property by a state authority when such real property is necessary for a public road right of way.

  The 2013 amendment,  effective April 24, 2013, part of an Act to revise, modernize, and correct the Code, deleted former paragraph (a)(1), which read: "The Georgia Building Authority (Hospital) provided for in Article 2 of Chapter 7 of Title 31;" and redesignated former paragraphs (a)(2) and (a)(3) as present paragraphs (a)(1) and (a)(2), respectively.
