  1. Each applicant for certification as a respiratory care professional shall meet the following requirements:
    1. Is at least 18 years of age;
    2. Has submitted a completed application as required by the board;
    3. Has submitted any fees required by the board;
    4. Has successfully passed the entry level examination given by the National Board for Respiratory Care, Inc., or such other examination as the board may in its discretion administer or approve; and
    5. Has met such other requirements as may be prescribed by the board.
  2. In addition to the requirements specified in subsection (a) of this Code section, each applicant for certification under this article shall be working under the supervision or direction of a person licensed under Article 2 of this chapter and shall, in order to maintain certification, continue to work under the supervision or direction of a person licensed under Article 2 of this chapter.
