License Requirement for Occupational Therapists

No person shall, unless such person is licensed in accordance with this chapter:

  1. Practice occupational therapy or assist in the practice of occupational therapy; or
  2. Hold himself or herself out as an occupational therapist or an occupational therapy assistant or as being able to render occupational therapy services in this state.

The 2019 amendment, effective July 1, 2019, redesignated former Code Section 43-28-8 as this Code section; added ", unless such person is licensed in accordance with this chapter" at the end of the introductory paragraph; inserted "or assist in the practice of occupational therapy" in paragraph (1); and substituted "this state." for "this state unless that person is licensed in accordance with this chapter." at the end of paragraph (2).
