L. 2013, p. 830, § 5/HB 315, not codified by the General Assembly, provided that this article shall become effective only when funds are specifically appropriated for purposes of this Act in an Appropriations Act making specific reference to this Act. Funds were appropriated at the 2014 session of the General Assembly.

The former article consisted of Code Sections43-26-50 through43-26-60, relating to qualified medication aides, and was based on Code 1981, §§ 43-6-50 -43-26-60, enacted by Ga. L. 2006, p. 125, § 1/SB 480; Ga. L. 2008, p. 335, § 7/SB 435; Ga. L. 2009, p. 453, §§ 1-45, 1-46/HB 228, and was repealed by Ga. L. 2006, p. 125, § 1/SB 480, effective July 1, 2011.
