- Acts, Services, Practices, and Procedures Authorized
- A dental assistant is one, other than a licensed dentist or licensed dental hygienist, who is employed to assist a licensed dentist by performing those acts, services, practices, and procedures as may be prescribed by rule or regulation of the board.
- After meeting such additional education and training requirements as the board may require by rule or regulation, a dental assistant may perform such other acts, practices, services, or procedures, under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist, which the board may prescribe by rule or regulation.

Code Commission notes. - Pursuant to Code Section 28-9-5, in 1987, "board" was substituted for "Georgia Board of Dentistry" at the end of subsection (a).
