An applicant may purchase a vehicle license plate or revalidation decal by mail, by mailing a properly completed application form to the tag agent of the county of his or her residence along with a bank check or money order in the amount of the license fee and all ad valorem taxes due thereon plus an additional fee of $1.00.

OPINIONS OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL

Effect of remittance of proper fee.

- Money order receipt, or similar evidence, showing a remittance to a county tag agent or to the state revenue commissioner for the proper fee entitles an applicant to the use and operation of the motor vehicle sought to be licensed and registered for a period of 15 days from the date of such remittance without penalty of any kind, assuming, of course, that the date of such remittance is on or before April 1. 1958-59 Op.
