Evidence, Testimony, and Information Necessary to Prepare Report Under Code Section 33-24-63; Time Period for Issuing of Reports on Bill

  1. The Commissioner shall compile all evidence, testimony, and information necessary to prepare the report required by Code Section 33-24-63. The Commissioner may include in this report studies, reviews, or evaluations of similar legislation completed by other states or any department of the government of the United States of America and any evaluations performed by the staff of the Department of Insurance.
  2. Within 20 days of the date of receipt of the health insurance benefit bill, the Commissioner shall issue the report required in Code Section 33-24-63. If a public hearing was conducted, the report shall contain a concise statement of the information revealed at the public hearing and may include copies of any document or documents presented at the public hearing and any other information deemed necessary by the Commissioner.

The 2019 amendment, effective July 1, 2019, substituted "Department of Insurance" for "Insurance Department" at the end of subsection (a).
