Office of Women's Health; Duties

  1. There is created in the department the Office of Women's Health.
  2. The Office of Women's Health shall serve in an advisory capacity to the Office of Health Strategy and Coordination. In particular, the office shall:
    1. Raise awareness of women's nonreproductive health issues;
    2. Raise awareness of women's reproductive health issues;
    3. Inform and engage in prevention and education activities relating to women's nonreproductive health issues; and
    4. Serve as a clearing-house for women's health information for purposes of planning and coordination.

The 2019 amendment, effective July 1, 2019, substituted "Office of Health Strategy and Coordination" for "Governor, the General Assembly, the board, the department, and all other state agencies in matters relating to women's health" in the first sentence of subsection (b); and added subsection (d).

The 2020 amendment, effective July 1, 2020, deleted the second through seventh sentences in subsection (a); added paragraph (b)(2); redesignated former paragraphs (b)(2) and (b)(3) as present paragraphs (b)(3) and (4), respectively; deleted former paragraphs (b)(4) and (b)(5); and deleted former subsections (c) and (d).
