"Active Tuberculosis" Defined; Declaration of Policy

  1. As used in this chapter, the term "active tuberculosis" means a diagnosis demonstrated by clinical, bacteriologic, or diagnostic imaging evidence, or a combination thereof. Persons who have been diagnosed as having active tuberculosis and have not completed a course of antituberculosis treatment are still considered to have active tuberculosis and may be infectious.
  2. Active tuberculosis is declared to be dangerous to the public health.
