- Creation; Director; Authority; Seal; Administrative Assignment
- There is created the Office of Student Achievement.
- The chief administrative and executive officer of the office shall be the director, who shall be appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate. Subject to the general policy established by the Education Coordinating Council, the director shall be responsible for the performance and exercise of the duties, responsibilities, functions, powers, and authority imposed upon the director and the office as provided by law. The director shall receive a salary to be determined by the Governor.
- The director shall have the authority to employ all personnel of the office, subject to the provisions of this part and all applicable provisions of other laws governing public employment.
- The office may adopt a seal for its use and shall be authorized to enter into contracts to fulfill its duties under this article.
- The office shall be assigned for administrative purposes only, as that term is defined in Code Section 50-4-3, to the Office of Planning and Budget.
