OPINIONS OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL
Issuance of professional corporation shares to employee stock ownership plan trustees.
- Professional corporations may issue shares to persons who are trustees of an employees' stock ownership plan so long as all trustees and all beneficiaries are persons licensed by the state to practice the profession for which the corporation was organized. 1975 Op. Att'y Gen. No. 75-61.
Foreign professional corporation not entitled to certificate of authority to transact business in Georgia. 1970 Op. Att'y Gen. No. 70-64.
Optometrists can be required to use personal names for corporations.
- The State Board of Examiners in Optometry (now the State Board of Optometry) has the authority to require optometrists who incorporate under the Professional Corporation Act (see now O.C.G.A. § 14-7-1 et seq.) to use only their personal names in naming the professional corporation. 1971 Op.
