(a) For the purposes of this section, the term "public health emergency" means a period of time for which the Mayor has declared a public health emergency pursuant to § 7-2304.01.

(b) A gas company shall not disconnect gas service for non-payment of a bill or fees during a public health emergency or for 15 calendar days thereafter.
