Qualifications of members and alternates.

(1) Each member and alternate of the board shall have the following qualifications, which shall continue during such person's term of office:

  1. The person shall be a citizen of the United States.

  2. The person shall be a bona fide resident of the state of Colorado and reside or maintain a principal place of business in the district from which the person is appointed.

  3. The person shall have demonstrated, through membership in a sheep producers' organization or an organization representing this type of production or business or through public or other service, an active interest in the development of the sheep industry of Colorado.

  4. The person shall have been actively engaged in the raising, breeding, or growing ofsheep for a period of at least three years and shall derive a substantial proportion of his or her income from that type of production or business.
