Any person who violates any of the provisions of this part 2 or who directs or knowingly permits such violation or aids or assists therein is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars, or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than ninety days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
