Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary:
Prescribing to an authorized entity permitted. A health care practitioner may direct the distribution of epinephrine auto-injectors from an in-state prescription drug outlet to an authorized entity for use in accordance with this article, and health care practitioners may distribute epinephrine auto-injectors to an authorized entity; and
Authorized entities permitted to maintain supply. An authorized entity may acquire and stock a supply of epinephrine auto-injectors pursuant to a prescription issued in accordance with this section.
Epinephrine auto-injectors must be stored:
In a location that will be readily accessible in an emergency;
According to the applicable instructions for use; and
In compliance with any additional requirements that may be established by the department of public health and environment.
An authorized entity shall designate employees or agents who have completed thetraining required by section 25-47-104 to be responsible for the storage, maintenance, control, and general oversight of epinephrine auto-injectors acquired by the authorized entity.
