(1) (a) After receipt of an original application for a license to provide ambulance service, the board of county commissioners shall review the application and the applicant's record and provide for the inspection of equipment to determine compliance with the provisions of this part 3.
(b) The board of county commissioners shall issue a license to the applicant to provide ambulance service and a permit for each ambulance used, both of which shall be valid for twelve months following the date of issue, upon a finding that the applicant's staff, vehicle, and equipment comply with the provisions of this part 3 and any other requirement established by said board.
Any such license or permit, unless revoked by the board of county commissioners,may be renewed by filing an application as in the case of an original application for such license or permit. Applications for renewal shall be filed annually but not less than thirty days before the date the license or permit expires.
No license or permit issued pursuant to this section shall be sold, assigned, or otherwise transferred.
