(1) (a) The city and county of Denver is granted jurisdiction to enforce the laws of the state of Colorado for the security of persons and property in the state capitol buildings group. In addition, the city and county of Denver is granted jurisdiction to enforce the ordinances of the city and county of Denver for the security of such persons and property. For the purposes of this subsection (1) and such enforcement, the ordinances of the city and county of Denver relating to access to and conduct on properties of the city and county of Denver referred to as parks shall likewise apply to the grounds of the state capitol buildings group, as to persons not having business thereon; except that the powers of the manager of parks and recreation enumerated in such ordinance shall not apply to such grounds. As used in this subsection (1), "state capitol buildings group" means those state-owned buildings, together with the state-owned grounds adjacent thereto, in the city and county of Denver within the area bounded on the north by Sixteenth avenue, on the west by Broadway, on the south by Eleventh avenue, and on the east by Grant street, as shown on the official maps of the city and county of Denver.
(b) Repealed.
(2) In addition to any other provision of law concerning jurisdiction of law enforcement personnel on state property, there is hereby vested in city police, town marshals, and county sheriffs, their undersheriffs and deputy sheriffs, jurisdiction to enforce the laws of this state on any state-owned or state-operated properties within their respective jurisdictions and to cooperate with members of the Colorado state patrol and other state law enforcement officers in such enforcement.
