As used in this part 2, unless the context otherwise requires:

  1. "Department" means the department of labor and employment created in section 241-121.

  2. "Fund" means the hospitality career secondary education fund created in section 24-

46.3-204.

  1. "Grant program" means the hospitality career secondary education grant programestablished in section 24-46.3-203.

  2. "Hospitality industry" means Colorado restaurants, hotels, and attractions.

  3. "Hospitality program" means a hospitality secondary education program that, at aminimum:

  1. Includes a curriculum that teaches career- and college-readiness skills that are pertinent to the hospitality industry;

  2. Offers secondary-level students the opportunity to work in the hospitality industryand earn wages while in the program;

  3. Offers hospitality industry-validated certificates of completion;

  4. Is approved by the office in the Colorado community college system that administershigh school career and technical education programs for use in Colorado high schools;

  5. Has been administered in at least one Colorado high school for a minimum of threeyears;

  6. Is endorsed and supported by at least one Colorado and one national hospitality tradeassociation; and

  7. Upon successful completion, will result in the issuance of a certificate to the studentthat articulates credits for postsecondary education.
