(1) Fire suppression contractors shall design and install fire suppression systems in accordance with the applicable standards adopted by the administrator by rule, manufacturer's specifications, and applicable local codes and ordinances. In adopting standards, the administrator may consider and adopt the standards of the national fire protection association and shall adopt, by January 1, 2015, a separate set of design and installation standards and a separate registration category applicable only to residential fire suppression systems.

  1. The contractor shall furnish the user with operating instructions for all equipmentinstalled, together with as-built diagrams of the final installation.

  2. Contractor inspections and tests, where required, shall be conducted by qualifiedpersonnel or certified fire safety inspectors and in compliance with applicable standards adopted by the administrator. Complete records shall be kept of the tests and operations of each system. The records shall be available for examination by the local certified fire safety inspector or the fire suppression administrator.
