The governor is authorized to make rules necessary to carry out the purposes of this part 11, including standards of eligibility for persons applying for benefits; procedures for applying and administration; methods of investigating, filing, and approving applications; and formation of local or statewide boards to pass upon applications and procedures for appeal.

Editor's note: This section is similar to former § 24-32-2501 as it existed prior to 2012. 24-33.5-1102. Emergency relief. (1) In an emergency, the governor may provide assistance to save lives and to protect property and public health and safety.

(2) The governor may provide such emergency assistance by directing state agencies to provide technical assistance and advisory personnel to the affected state and local governments in giving:

  1. Aid in the performance of essential community services, warning of further risks andhazards, public information and assistance in health and safety measures, technical advice on management and control, and reduction of immediate threats to public health and safety; and

  2. Assistance in the distribution of medicine, food, and other consumable supplies oremergency assistance.

(3) In addition, in any emergency, the governor is authorized to provide such other assistance under this part 11 as the governor deems appropriate.
