As used in this part 7, unless the context otherwise requires:

  1. Repealed.

  2. "Department" means the department of education created in section 24-1-115, C.R.S.

  3. "Grant program" means the teacher development grant program created in section22-7-704.

  4. "School" means any public school in the state, including but not limited to a traditional public school of a school district, a charter school, and an approved facility school, as defined in section 22-2-402 (1).

  5. "State board" means the state board of education created in section 1 of article IX ofthe state constitution.

  6. "Teacher development schedule" means a schedule of school-based skillsdevelopment activities to assist teachers throughout the school year in improving their classroom teaching skills. A "teacher development schedule" may include, but need not be limited to:

  1. Time set aside during which teachers meet to review their assignments, present lesson plans, and provide feedback to one another; and

  2. On-site training, observation, and evaluation by recognized experts in instructionalstrategies and techniques.
