(1) Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, for the 2020-21 budget year:
A board of education shall prepare and submit a proposed budget in accordance withsection 22-44-108 not later than June 23, 2020;
After submission of a proposed budget, but not later than June 25, 2020, the board ofeducation shall publish a notice of proposed school budget. The notice must be published in a newspaper having general circulation in the school district at least once prior to the date specified in the notice for consideration of the proposed school budget. If there is no newspaper having general circulation in the school district, or the notice cannot be published in the newspaper prior to the date specified in the notice for consideration of the budget, the secretary of the board of education shall cause the notice to be posted for at least two business days in the administrative offices of the district and in two other public places in the district prior to the date specified in the notice for consideration of the budget.
The provisions of section 22-44-104 apply if a board of education does not adopt abudget and an appropriation resolution by June 30, 2020. After the adoption of the budget, the board may review and change the budget pursuant to section 22-44-110 (5).
(2) This section is repealed, effective July 1, 2021.
