(1) Any person licensed to practice podiatry pursuant to this article 290 may apply to the board for volunteer licensure status. The application shall be in the form and manner designated by the board. The board may grant volunteer licensure status by issuing a volunteer license, or the board may deny the application if the licensee has been disciplined for any of the causes set forth in section 12-290-108.

(2) Any person applying for a license under this section shall:

  1. Attest that, after a date certain, the applicant no longer earns income as a podiatrist;

  2. Pay the license fee authorized by section 12-20-105. The volunteer podiatrist licensefee shall be reduced from the license fee.

  3. Maintain liability insurance as provided in section 12-290-104.

  1. The volunteer status of a licensee shall be plainly indicated on the face of any volunteer license issued pursuant to this section.

  2. The board is authorized to conduct disciplinary proceedings pursuant to section 12290-113 against any person licensed under this section for an act committed while the person was licensed pursuant to this section.

  3. Any person licensed under this section may apply to the board for a return to activelicensure status by filing an application in the form and manner designated by the board. The board may approve the application and issue a license to practice podiatry or may deny the application if the licensee has been disciplined for or engaged in any of the activities set forth in section 12-290-108.

  4. A podiatrist with a volunteer license shall only provide podiatry services if the services are performed on a limited basis for no fee or other compensation.
