(1) The Colorado podiatry board is hereby established. The governor shall appoint the members of the board. The board shall consist of four podiatrist members and one member from the public at large. The member from the public shall not be a licensed health care professional or be employed by or benefit financially from the health care industry. The terms of the members of the board shall be four years. The governor may remove any member of the board for misconduct, incompetency, or neglect of duty. Members of the board shall remain in office until their successors are appointed.

  1. The board shall elect biennially from its membership a president and a vicepresident. A majority of the board shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of all business.

  2. Members of the board shall be immune from suit in any action, civil or criminal,based upon any disciplinary proceedings or other official acts performed in good faith as members of the board.

  3. This article 290 is repealed, effective September 1, 2026. Before the repeal, the functions of the board are scheduled for review in accordance with section 24-34-104.
