Persons entitled to practice as naturopathic doctors - title protection for naturopathic doctors.

(1) A person shall not hold himself or herself out as a naturopathic doctor or use any of the titles or initials referred to in subsection (2) of this section unless the person is registered as a naturopathic doctor pursuant to this article 250.

  1. A naturopathic doctor may use the title "naturopathic doctor", or "doctor of naturopathy", or the initials "N.D."

  2. A naturopathic doctor shall qualify any specialty services provided to the public with"naturopathic" or "naturopath".

  3. A naturopathic doctor shall not use:

  1. The term "physician" in describing the naturopathic doctor's registered naturopathicmedicine practice in this state;

  2. The abbreviations "NMD" or "N.M.D.";(c) The term "naturopathic medical doctor".

  1. Nothing in this section prevents a naturopathic doctor from disclosing membership innational organizations or associations of naturopathic physicians unless the disclosure is false, misleading, or deceptive.

  2. Nothing in this section prevents a person from using the term "doctor" or the title"Dr." if he or she satisfies the requirements of section 6-1-707 (1)(a).
