(1) An architect who has been duly licensed and is over sixty-five years of age may apply to the board for classification as a retired architect. Retired architects shall not practice architecture and shall pay a fee established by the board to be listed with and retain retired architect status. A person classified as a retired architect may hold himself or herself out as a retired architect.

  1. A retired architect shall be reinstated to the status of an architect upon payment of therenewal fee established pursuant to sections 12-20-105 and 12-20-202 (1). The board shall not assess any additional fees.

  2. The board may require reexamination of a retired architect who has been retired fortwo or more years and is seeking reinstatement pursuant to subsection (2) of this section unless the board is satisfied with the retired architect's competence to practice, as required by section 12-20-202 (2)(c)(II).
